Research Interests: Public Health, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Social Impact Assessment (SIA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Food Security and SDGs, Water Chemistry and Pollution, Environmental Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health, Remote Sensing and GIS, Project Planning and Management, Gender and Ecosystem Management, Land Use Change and Management, Disaster Education.


Biographical Note

As an academic and researcher, Md. Khalid Hasan is interested to work at the frontiers of disaster, environment and health research and decided to choose it as his career. He has been involved in research in the areas of environment, disasters, education, migration, remote sensing, climate change and health since 2009. After working for the Department of Soil Science, University of Chittagong, he joined the University of Dhaka as a lecturer of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies (IDMVS) in 2013. Md. Khalid Hasan has a good numbers of publications in home and abroad. He has also supervised a number of Masters’ level dissertations in diversified areas. He has experiences in working various important projects and contributed as researcher and consultant concerning environment, GIS and remote sensing, migration, disasters management, climate change, ecosystem services, food security, pollution, sustainable development issues like poverty, health, education, livelihood, health and sanitation, and many others.

1. From May, 2014 to August, 2014; Data Analyst and Data Management Expert, A Rapid Assessment on the situation of Sexual and Reproductive Health during emergencies, supported by SPRINT project facilitated by Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB).

2. From November 2014 to January 2015; Co-Researcher, Strengthening Resilience and Safety in Schools and Communities in Bangladesh, supported by DeSHARI Consortium.

3. From November, 2014 to March, 2015; Co-Writer and Trainer, Development of Training Manuals for Teachers at Higher Secondary, Secondary levels and Officials on Disaster Risk Reduction and provide Training of Trainers to 300 teachers of TTC & HSTTI throughout the country at Dhaka TTC supported by Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education, GoB & CDMP-II.
